In their own words.
Thank you very much for the wonderful tour of the synagogue. It was truly outstanding. The participants—the FSJ volunteers—also enjoyed it very much.
Meine Schüler:innen waren sehr beeindruckt und fühlen sich sehr angeregt. [...] Es war wirklich toll, dass Ihr Rabbi sich so viel Zeit für uns genommen hat und so anschaulich erklären konnten.I was especially touched when many students personally came up to thank me after the talk. It made me feel that they really appreciated hearing directly from a Jewish perspective instead of just learning about Judaism from books.
Guests left with new insights into kosher practices, positive connections, and enthusiastic feedback, with some expressing interest in similar events for next year's ‘Week of Religions.’
Viele Teilnehmende zeigten sich im Anschluss tief beeindruckt und dankbar für diese intensive Erfahrung. One of the children, a Muslim one came to me after the meeting and said that he never met a Jew before and he haven’t known that we are so nice!
I was received like a ‘star’, and they were very curious about the meaning of some words and its Jewish meaning. A very intense and meaningful morning.
People were very happy and interested to see and meet a Jew and rabbi for first time, they asked questions and was meaningful
The workshop was highly appreciated by all participants for its intellectual depth and its success in addressing the most complex challenges of our modern era.
Thank you, Rabbi, for receiving us once again this afternoon... It is always a moment of great intelligence, of humanism, to talk with you ... and to tell you all it reconciles me with humanity: knowing that reflection still exists.... I admit that it impressed me ... because I can’t find this reflection anywhere else...
After the conference, several participants shared very enthusiastic feedback, expressing that the event had been intellectually stimulating, courageous and meaningful.
The students reacted with great analytical curiosity, asking insightful questions about how history continues to influence contemporary community identity.
Understanding beginswith encounter.
The Jewish Ambassador Program of the Conference of European Rabbis (CER) is open to everyone who wants to learn more about Judaism.
What makes this program unique is direct, personal contact with a Jewish representative: not through the media, not through headlines, but face to face. This is a rare opportunity to meet and talk with a local Jewish person, perhaps for the first time in your life.
Our aim is an open, respectful dialogue, especially in times of growing prejudice and antisemitism. Talking with each other, asking questions, getting to know one another: these are the best paths to understanding.
The program brings rabbis and Jewish representatives into direct conversation with other people. It is not only about knowledge, but about building bridges and making Jewish life, traditions and values tangible.
Bring an Ambassador to your group.
Tell us about your group and we will arrange a personal, honest and open conversation, with 10 participants or more.
